Well this is the other scenario that complicates things. What version of Outlook? By default Outlook does not sent Meeting Requests using iCal, it uses it's own proprietary thing (same as in Exchange 5.5). Outlook 2000 and XP have the capability of sending an iCal event, but you have to tell it to do so.
