I have been switching back and forth between OSW 9.x and 10.x and Entourage
X has become unusable with no offer to help from Microsoft, blaming it on a
bad message 'somewhere'.

Every time I try to check mail with E-X it crashes when it gets to a message
that, whatever the problem, comes through fine with other mail programs.
Microsoft Support has 'closed' the case (subject to my complaint, but I
won't hold my breath) and written it off to a corrupt message. They dropped
it with me and an unusable Entourage for X.

I leave my messages on the server for a couple weeks so I can keep copies on
my other machines, so messages aren't deleted immediately, so this phantom
message still resides on the mail server.

I can check my mail with E-9.x and Mail, but E-X dies every time I try.

Any suggestions?

The last part of my communication with MS follows:
