I just installed the new Palm Desktop beta, set it to handheld overwrite the
desktop first time, and hot synced (via a usb hub) without any difficulty.
Seems very slick, so far.

I use Entourage as my mail client/PIM normally, and have synced to it under
OS 9. But Microsoft has been prevented from releasing a conduit for OS X
until Palm finishes theirs and releases the specs to third parties, so I
decided to install Palm Desktop and use it for my PIM until Entourage gets
its conduit. Then, I can just re-import the data back into Entourage.

The major gotcha is that hot sync won't work if Classic is running. You must
quit Classic before you hot sync.
