After a while posts all start running together. I'm on several lists that
ask questions about Entourage. Sounds better than I'm getting senile. :-)

One user mentioned checking RAM. He had some bad RAM that was causing his
problems.

For some reason, Apple assumed everyone would leave their computer on all
the time and scheduled cleanup at 3AM- 5AM. (system regularly purge itself
of outdated, space-hogging log files, update system databases so utilities
like locate can work effectively, and do several other maintenance tasks
that keep your system running lean and mean.)

Product Description MacJanitor:
Freeware utility to run the system's daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance
scripts. Excellent for laptop users and others who shut their Macs off at
night.

These scripts are normally run between 3am and 5am, and will not be run if
you shut off your Mac at night. This will allow log files to grow very
large, and prevent system databases from getting backed up.

With MacJanitor, you can run these scripts 'by hand' periodically without
having to use the Terminal to keep your Mac OS X machine in top racing form.

There is also an easy to understand tutorial on how to change the time in
the Terminal so it runs automatically.

To me this is pointing to something else on your system causing the problem.
Run MacJanitor first. It's the easiest thing to try. Then check your RAM.

This was mentioned by another user. I'm not familiar with it.

I wouldn't think it would cause your problems.
