That would probably be because you have since received another email message
from that person. He/she is likely to be someone on a mailing list you
subscribe to. If you'd just leave things be, you'd give the list a chance to
settle down. Eventually you'll see just people you correspond regularly with
plus - very briefly - just a few of the most recent people who write you,
who will disappear quite quickly to be replaced by others. If you really
want them to disappear permanently even though they keep writing to mailing
lists, add them to your Address Book and give them the Junk category. Or get
rid of the list if its benefits don't outweigh these silly annoyances. If
the list didn't allow a few new people on, it would never change and would
never work as it does.
