Hi Greg, I have tried with the authentication too but it don't work. However, I have revert back to OS9 and log in to compuserve server(with dial-up script) provided from compuserve, then I have no problem sending out mail thru' smtp.compuserve.com. In OS X, I can download compuserve mails thru' pop.compuserve.com server using other ISP dial-up but sending out mail thru compuserve's smtp server just don't work. If there is a way, where I can attach the compuserve dial-up script when logging on in OS X. I might have a chance!!
