I would reserve doing a rebuild only if I could not open Efx or if I was seeing problems. The problems with the rebuild could have to do with space and fragmentation on your hd. First you need to be sure you have the room to rebuild (see below), then duplicate the "old" files and then replace them for the newly created bad ones and try the rebuild. Depending on the size of your database, Entourage might need more memory than usual during the rebuild. (When you're done, you can return to the previous memory setting.) Make sure that you have enough free disk space on your hard disk. When you rebuild the database, Entourage creates a copy of the database and other necessary files on your hard disk. Therefore, make sure that your hard disk has enough free disk space to store both your current database and a copy of the database. For example, if the current size of your database is 10 megabytes (MB), you will need at least 20 MB of free disk space to rebuild the database.
