You can't do that, because downloading the messages from news server to a cache is the only way to read news messages in Entourage. there is no other way. If the messages weren't downloaded to a cache, they wouldn't be downloaded at all, and you wouldn't be reading them. Period. Here's what you ca do if it really bothers you: Make a local folder for each subscribed newsgroup, with the same name. Every time you download news messages that are worth keeping, drag them to the appropriate folder (which copies them as "real" messages, like mail messages).
