As it happens I'm now working on "extras" - scripts for exporting from Excel, replacing carriage returns, among other things, by special symbols the Import scripts want. But I could put in an option for replacing them with a space for just this particular circumstance. It will probably take me a few days, but hold just a few non-urgent items back maybe to try these "extras" out when ready. (I found, like you, that there's no way to replace CRs in Excel itself, unlike in Word.
