I concur. I have noticed this and just assumed it was my fault. But I have also noticed that its behavior is erratic. I think it varies according to the location of the cursor at the moment the signature icon is clicked, or perhaps it matters whether the message was saved before the icon is clicked, or perhaps it matters whether the message is entirely new or if it is a reply to another message. I am not sure, but I know I have seen it sometimes, and then when I keep my eye on it it behaves as it should.
