Subject: Saved Microsoft User Data for Entourage won't come up on Entourage 2001
To Everyone:
I lost all my messages and addresses. I am sure this must have been addressed before, but I must not have seen it. I saved all my Microsoft User Data for Entourage on two different disks as well as my entire hard drive system with everything on it (9.2.1). However when I was ready to put the information back into a new zeroed out partition, Entourage came up as a new one with the welcome message. I have tried everything I can think of and still don’t have my old database back on it. Can you please tell me how to do this as I am in a mess without all that information.
Thank you so much for your help in advance.

P.S. I apologize if this is an old issue, but this is the first time I have encountered these problems. Help!!!! Please

All you need to do is simply replace the entire current Microsoft User Data folder with the one you have backed up. It should be in the Documents folder of the partition your system is on.

Also, I am now getting two of every message I receive! This happened after I put Entourage back on my computer after zeroing out the hard drive and making partitions. How can I stop this double email???
Thank you so much for your help in advance.

Make sure that the previous data (the entire folder containing your
identity) is put in the "Office 2001Identites" folder in the "Microsoft User
Data" folder. Then, start up Entourage and select "Change Identity" from the
file menu (it may be called something slightly different - I'm running vX
and typing form memory!)
You old identity should be listed there for you to select.

I tried what you said but the information still did not come up. I think it’s because of what I did when I partitioned my hard drive. I saved my entire hard drive with Entourage and everything on it (OS 9.2.1) and then simply put the whole thing back on the new partition. I only had one identity which was “Main Identity” for Entourage in the saved data. It is called the same thing in this one that came up like a new installation, although I did not install Entourage new, just put the saved version with everything (all data) in the new partition. Everything else I saved to my peripheral hard drive and then put back on works fine. Only Entourage acts as if it is new. I even had the welcome message, but no old data! Should I maybe reinstall Entourage completely and then replace the new main identity folder with the saved Main Identity folder???
