So, when you put it back on the hew partition, is this the startup
partition?

The only valid Microsoft User Data folder is the one in your Documents
Folder on the Startup Drive (although you can position the folder elsewhere
and point to it with aliases in the correct place).

You should have the following structure (note: some of these items may not
appear on your system, and you may have others I haven't shown):

<Startup Disk>
    |
    +- Applications
    | |
    | +- Microsoft Office 2001
    |
    +- Documents
    | |
    | +- Microsoft User Data
    | | |
    | | +- Entourage Script Menu Items
    | | |
    | | +- Entourage Sound Sets
    | | |
    | | +- Entourage Temp
    | | |
    | | +- Office 2001 Identities
    | | | |
    | | | +- Main Identity
    | | | |
    | | | +- Another Identity
    | | | |
    | | | +- Newsgroup Cache

You should take your original 'Main Identity' folder, rename it to something
like 'Original Identity' and drop it into the Office 2001 Identities folder
which is situated on the startup drive. Leave your newly created 'Main
Identity' folder in place so the data that has been put in there since you
re-installed is not lost. Restart Entourage and it should then be available
from the identities listing when you select 'change identity' from the file
menu.
