Leaving the read messages in the view is deliberate, as Dan surmises in his message that started the thread. And Peter's way of refreshing the list is exactly how to do it, it just uses different keystrokes in E2001 and EvX:
E2001: Command-L EvX: Command-Shift-O (oh, not zero) If you are in unread only mode, tap the keystroke twice to toggle it off and on again, which refreshes it. The change in X was necessary because Cmd-L was used elsewhere. See X's help on keyboard shortcuts for message lists. And look around at all the other shortcut keys!!
