OK, now we're getting somewhere. It's entirely normal that a Typical Rebuild
doesn't fix serious corruption: it's not supposed to. An Advanced Rebuild
fixes it. BUT - as you almost say - a corrupt message on an IMAP server will
still be there. It's only the copy on the local cache which has been fixed
(actually, in this case, deleted, and the database fixed). If you then
re-download the same message, or another message from the same source
creating the problem, YES -you will get corruption again. If you don't Live
Sync, you'll be somewhat less likely to download the same messages again.

So - what appears to be happening is that there is at least one corrupt
message on your IMAP server that you keep downloading again and again.

What I would suggest is that you archive your IMAP folders as text files
(drag them to the desktop), delete all their messages from the server. Try
it out for a little while just like that, If by any chance you get another
corrupt message (unlikely, not for some time) you might be able to nab it.
you could also probably drag your MBOX message files back to Entourage: they
will make local message folders. You could then drag the local messages back
to the server. Yes, you would lose links etc. but as you say, you've lost
those already when you did your Advanced rebuild. The corruption should not
be re-introduced by this method,

You probably have a single corrupt message which you keep re-downloading via
Live Sync, and this will probably get rid of the corruption.
