In the meantime, you might perhaps be interested in new export scripts I'll be releasing soon which, among many other things, will allow you to export your contacts, calendar, tasks, notes, etc. - or just new updates to them - as text files. You might want to do that as a precautionary measure. Then, if you're sitting in your wife's identity, you can just import the contacts and calendar events in.
