I've tried my best to use Entourage X in our Exchange Server environment, making it my sole messaging app for two months now. However, there are a number of frustrating issues that I cannot seem to resolve. This is an IMAP configuration. Any ideas or insights would be greatly appreciated.
The most pressing issues: 1. New mail does not arrive regularly, even though "stay connected to server" is selected. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it takes a break for several hours. Forcing the inbox to refresh will retrieve the new mail. The best resolution I've come up with so far is to run a schedule to check for new mail at one minute intervals. However, even this is flaky at times, either ceasing to run or giving lengthy delays when trying to contact the server. 2. Often, deleted or read mail shows up again in my inbox as new mail. 3. At least once per day, I'll open a new e-mail and the contents do not appear. Refreshing the inbox or rebuilding the database does not help. I've experimented with various settings to no avail. The six computers in my office all experience these problems in various degrees. Prior to our adoption of OS X, we used Outlook 2001, which worked as well as Outlook 2001 ever worked. I've posted on the newsgroup and had no response. I called Microsoft and they wanted to charge a $240 professional fee since the issue involved connectivity to an Exchange server, even though we had purchased Office X less than one month before my call.
