Greg: Clicking on the "Outbox" brings up an empty message window. This is the same behavior I hade previously seen in the Inbox where missing messages would be replaced by the window background pattern. As I said, the database is "hosed," It acts as though the index says there IS a message, but the record in the DB is empty.
The Outbox is special in Entourage. It cannot be deleted by right-clicking on it, as can other mail folders that I have created.
