I assume you are talking about eMessage Archiver?

It <is> OS X native. There are versions for both 9 and X. It uses FileMaker
Pro, but it comes in a runtime version; that is, you get a working FMP
engine that works for this application only.

I'm not sure what you mean by mentioning Word. Do you want to archive your
messages to a Word file? (Really??)

If you just want to preserve a snapshot of all your mail folders every few
months, you could do the following. It sounds more complex than it really
is. Basically, you are just creating a copy of your entire database.

Create a new "identity" in Entourage, using the Switch Identity command in
the "entourage" menu.

Once you have the new identity, switch back to your main identity. Exit
Entourage, and close any other programs that access the database, such as
Office Notifications and Microsoft Database Daemon (you may need to use
"Process Viewer" to kill the Daemon, or a simple AppleScript: 'tell
application "Microsoft Database Daemon" to quit').

In Finder, navigate to the folder that contains your Microsoft User Data
(MUD) folder (usually your OS X Home folder's Documents folder) and then to
Office X Identities inside the MUD folder. There, you will see folders for
your main Entourage identity and for the new one you just created. Open the
folder for your main identity. There, you will see the files "Database" and
"Database Cache". These are your entire Entourage database: messages,
contacts, calendar, etc. Select the two files and type "Cmd-c" to initiate a
copy.

Navigate to the folder of the new identity, and in that folder, type "Cmd-v"
to "paste". This will tell Finder to copy the database files to this folder.
Of course, it will ask if you want to replace the existing files; you do.

Once the copy is done, you can re-launch Entourage. Now, in Entourage, you
will find that you can switch to the new identity, and there will be a copy
of everything that was in the main identity. This way, you preserve all the
fields, the links between items, everything. Even rules and schedules. You
can use Entourage's Advanced Find to find anything you want.

Do this every few months, and you will have a growing archive of snapshots
of your mail database.
