Actually, in the message that you referenced, I tried to describe some of
the specific features and advantages provided by Digest Viewer which are
missing from Entourage (with or without the burst action enabled).

I was not implying that Entourage's handling of digests is broken or badly
implemented.  It's better than the other email clients I have tried.  For
some users, handling mail lists completely within Entourage makes sense.
Others may find benefits from using Digest Viewer or other external tools.

This could easily lead into a more general discussion about software design
and marketing strategies.  Big apps that try to do everything for everyone,
vs smaller more specialized apps (possibly from different vendors) which can
be integrated to work together.  A familiar debate.  I have some thoughts
(both positive and critical) about how Entourage fits into this, but I think
I'll save my comments for another day, another thread.
