It should show up in the Scripts Menu even if the script is in your own User
Scripts folder. they all should show up in the list, regardless. Mine do. In
the ed, on a single-user computer, it doesn't really matter which Scripts
folder you use. The "main" one is not System, it's "local". you can't, and
shouldn't. even try to get into System/Library/. But either
/Library/Scripts/  or /Users/[you]/Library/Scripts/ is OK.
