You knew there had to be a first... :-) It's me!

When I attempt to click on any of the 3 "Settings..." buttons in the
Entourage Conduit Manager in the HotSync Manager application, I get the
error:

"Could not open the selected identity. Quit all open Microsoft Office
programs and try again."

I can fix the problem by, ta-da... renaming my Entourage "Database" file to
something else and letting Entourage create a new one. So obviously the
"corruption" as I'll call it is in the (60 MB on my computer so far)
Entourage database itself. Darn.

I guess the message for the list is "Don't forget to make a backup first."

My quandary is what to do to fix my woes. Neither a Typical nor an Advanced
rebuild had any effect. Thanks listers.
