For crying out loud Harry, isn't this horse dead yet?
- I DID receive the original invitation a few weeks ago.
- I DECLINED the invitation.
- The event was NOT added to my calendar.
- NO alarm/reminder was issued.
If all the people who are complaining about his had declined the invitation instead of ignoring it or accepting it, there wouldn't be this trouble now.
Has anyone read the help files on this topic? They are quite clear:
An event I didn't accept was added to the Calendar:Now, what exactly is the complaint against Microsoft/Entourage? That it is accepting invitations? Yes, it does. They tell you it does. They tell you how to stop it doing this. I for one am glad it does, because it means that invitations I receive are in the calendar BEFORE I get round to reading and responding to every email I receive, and I have the option to remove them easily by clicking on the ‘decline’ button in the message.
By default, when you receive an invitation, the event is tentatively added to the Calendar. To prevent invitations from being added to the Calendar before you accept them, click General Preferences on the Entourage menu. Click the Calendar tab, and then clear the Tentatively add events when invitations are received check box.
The problem is that an ?unseen” and ?uninvited” hand ?interferes ” withz my computer program. The question that arises in my mind and obviously in the mind of many is: If this hand can interfere with my calendar can it and will it at some time interfere with my private files and with the running of my computer? It is a case of Big Brother not only watching you but also of interfering in your life. I thought till now that by not being online permanently, or by using an effective firewall and other security measures my computer was ?safe”. This is casting serious doubt on that proposition.
