I don't understand why Microsoft feels 'let down' enough to need to "re-evaluate" anything at this point. Is there no acknowledgement given to the fact that Office 2001 (a terrific, MAJOR revision of their software at a $149 upgrade cost) preceded Office X by only one year? Did Kevin Browne and the rest of the management team really think they would be able to have the whole Office for Mac universe upgrade twice in such a short period? For a per unit cost of $300 plus shipping and handling? If so, that's just ridiculous. I'm not saying Apple shouldn't do more to promote this new OS. Of course, they certainly should. But, all this hand-wringing/posturing by Microsoft right now is silly. Microsoft has the best office suite for the Mac. When current users upgrade their present machines to new Macs, or are ready to update their current software to OS X nativity, the sales will most certainly go to Microsoft. New Mac users wanting a quality product upgrade for AppleWorks will, invariably, find themselves purchasing Microsoft Office v.X. The money is coming Microsoftians. Be a *little* patient.
