I was on the verge of writing in to ask how I could get Entourage X to self-address replies so that they are sent from the account to which the original message was addressed. Realising this was a bit of an RTFM question, I looked in the help pages (as there is no FM) and found the bit about unchecking the 'Reply using default account' option on the 'Reply & Forward' pane of the Mail & News Prefs dialog.
Great! Job done! Or not. When I tried it out, the accounts that Entourage chose to send my replies from were stupidly to cock, in nearly every case. Perhaps I have too many mail accounts. (I have 9 different account setups in Entourage - some of these are alternative addresses belonging to the same account, some are variants of the same account with different sigs & configs. It all boils down to 2 accounts with different ISPs, and a dot mac account that's set up to redirect through one of the ISPs.) I can see how Entourage might get confused by mac.com mail that has been channelled through a 'real' ISP, but why, when I reply to a message that has been sent to my primary ntlworld account, does Entourage fill in the 'from' field with details of a secondary, seldom-used account with the same ISP? All of which leads me back to my original question: how can I get Entourage X to self-address replies so that they are sent from the account with which the original message was received?
