It's the way I work. I usually have several books open at once, too, even though I can only read one at a time. Having them there makes it easier to switch among them, and I don't have to remember, as I'm dealing with one thing, what the next ten things are. And it's not quite true, anyway: I frequently have two or three message windows open and visible, dragging and dropping between them or referring to them as I write something. In addition, many messages I read are quite long, I frequently have to leave one in the middle to open up an incoming message. That makes it easier to pick up where I left off -- unless Entourage has just scrolled me back up to the top of the message without asking! > Do you use the preview pane? Tap the Spacebar to go to the next message, or > hold down the spacebar to scroll down through a message slowly and > continuously. No, the preview pane is convenient for people who never use drag and drop and who don't receive very much mail, but I receive too much mail to make it efficient. I wish I had time each morning to walk through my messages one by one, in order or whatever, but I can't. I have to pick the most urgent, then the most useful, then the most interesting. Besides, at 1024x768, screen real estate is at a premium. With the preview pane big enough to see much of the message, you can only see a handful of messages to choose among. I like seeing as many folders as I can on the left and as many messages as I can on the right, -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
