Paul Berkowitz gave an excellent rundown of ways to speed up Entourage. To his suggestions, I would add: TURN OFF TEXT SMOOTHING! Especially if you have a G3. In Entourage, choose "General Preferences" from the Entourage menu. Click the "General" tab, and make sure "Enable Quartz text Smoothing" is turned OFF (unchecked).
I find this speeds up Entourage considerably (to the point that it is usable) and makes the type easier to read to my poor tired old eyes... P.S.
