It sounds like database corruption. Did you do the advanced rebuild? To identify corruption in your user folder try creating a new user in the System Preferences. Log out/in to the new user. Launch Entourage and see if the error occurs there. To identify corruption in your Entourage database, Switch Identities under Entourage in the menu bar.
