It's a folder called simply "Office" inside the Microsoft Office 2001 main
folder. It has loads of files that make Office work. (Back in Office 98,
such files were in the Extensions folder in the System Folder. In 2001 they
were moved here, and stopped causing extension conflicts with other apps and
vice versa.)

It's 100% true. You don't need anything else for Office v. X to _work_. To
_import_ all your data from Entourage 2001, you need Office 2001, not just
the data. I expect that this is part of a continual effort to block upgrade
paths of pirated software and isn't required for technical reasons.

If Entourage 2001 has been functioning - in OS 9 and/or Classic - then you
must have the Office subfolder. I wouldn't worry about that. Just find the
CD.

If you never find the CD, but can get Entourage 2001 to open - in Classic or
OS 9 - you could export everything out of 2001 and into X by my scripts

    Export-Import Entourage (shareware), available at

AppleScript Central <http://www.applescriptcentral.com/>

You'd need to get both the 2001 and X versions. (You only need to pay once.)
They will export everything except rules, schedules and links. Also
recurring events would have to be adjusted. You'd get accounts, mail,
calendar, contacts, groups, tasks, notes, signatures, mailing lists, etc.
But it's a lot more bother than the built-in import requiring the CD. So try
to find that.

PLEASE always state which version of Entourage you are using - 2001 or X.
It's often impossible to answer your questions otherwise.
