I'm at my wits end with Entourage X. I manage six Macs in my office,
all running OS 10.2.3 and the latest release of Office. Our
organization uses Exchange servers for e-mail, and we configure
Entourage as an IMAP client.
The bottom line is this: Entourage loses the connection with the
server and will not update the inbox automatically. Sometimes, it even
fails to connect with a manual send and receive command. We've been
experiencing this problem off and on for a year now. Sometimes, it
will work fine for weeks on end, then go for several weeks with this
frustrating problem.
I've tried just about every possible configuration. "Stay connected to
server" is checked. I've tried running schedules, with less than
satisfactory results. The interesting thing is that I fired up
Mail.app a few days ago and it is working flawlessly. I even had
Mail.app and E'rage running side-by-side for a couple of days, and
Mail.app received all new mail without prompting, while I had to
manually grab new mail with E'rage.
Any ideas? I've posted this problem to this board in the past and
never got a response. If you have ANY ideas, I would appreciate you
sharing them.
