Thanks for the help. I shotgun'd the problem to death. ;-)

First I ran Norton Disk Dr., it said "Major Problems" B-Tree bla bla.
Restarted from the Norton CD ran DD about four times to get a clean bill.

Ran Disk Warrior next did a rebuild.

Started in single user mode ran File System Check (fsck) got a clean bill
there. Did the launch option again with Entourage, this time it said not to
have any MS programs running ?? Quit Drop Drawers tried again and WAS able
to do a normal rebuild which reduced the D base from 19 meg to 2 and the
world looks better now.
