First, a reminder to all that "Listserv" is not a generic term for mailing
list. It's a software package and registered trademark of L-Soft
<http://www.lsoft.com>.

Norman, rules are applied in order, top to bottom. Perhaps there is a rule
higher up in the list that is "grabbing" messages with your name or email
address before they can reach your mailing list rule?

The easiest way to test for messages from a mailing list list is to look in
the "To" field for the list address, e.g.

       TO is "Entourage:mac Talk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
or TO contains Entourage-Talk

or something like that. No need to include your information at all, unless
you want to treat your messages to the list differently. For instance, I
have a rule that sets messages from my boss to high priority and a
noticeable color. But I do NOT want this rule to be applied to messages he
sends to a mailing list we both belong to, so my rule is

        FROM contains boss's name
AND ANY RECIPIENT contains my name

That way, mail from my boss to a mailing list is not processed unless he has
specifically CC'd me. (I've never seen him use BCC, so this is pretty safe.)

So check your rules to make sure they do what you really want them to, and
move any rules that move or delete messages to the bottom, since processing
stops when this happens.

Hope this helps,

peter
