This underlines the need for something that has been on our wish lists for a
long time: some kind of rule tracking that would indicate the last rule that
acted on a message, so you could tell what rule placed it in that folder.
Don't know if we will ever see that, but when rules multiply into scores of
them, it becomes more and more necessary.
