Ah, yes, that makes more sense now... sorry I don't know of any way to get it back.

Are you using IMAP?

If so, do you have it move your messages to a delete items folder? Or
is it simply marking them as deleted and then hiding them. These are
all preferences you can set for an IMAP account.

Also, try refreshing the deleted items folder (cmd-L) when you have it
displayed. Entourage seems to get out of sync with the server somewhat
frequently.

I guess you missed my first post. It follows at the end. Yes, I am using
IMAP and yes the messages are moved to a "Deleted Items" folder in the IMAP
account. The issue is with deleting messages while offline. The messages
disappear from the message list, but aren't yet accessible in the "Deleted
Items" folder because they haven't actually been moved there yet.

Original Post:

I connect to an IMAP server with a laptop and do most of my reading/replying
on a daily train commute. Before I leave home in the morning and the office
in the evening, I set Entourage to work offline and pack up. When I get on
the train, I open my laptop and start managing my mail. At this point
Entourage starts recording certain mail actions I perform (message deletion,
read/unread status, etc.). When I then reconnect and set Entourage to work
online, a progress bar pops up and the recorded mail actions are played back
on the server (moving deleted messages to specified mailbox, setting read
flag, etc.).

Sometimes I will delete a message without a reply and then change my mind
and wish to reply to it before I get to my destination. However, the message
appears to be in limbo. It is no longer accessible in the original location,
but it is also not available in the Deleted Items folder, since it hasn't
really been moved there yet. An Advanced Find doesn't find the message in
either location.
