Is this why my IE prefs don't work anymore? This is pretty recent, though,
and did not exist with earlier versions (earlier OS X versions) - it must
have occurred in the last update.

No problem here - iBook 800. Maybe your database is too fragmented?

It works correctly for me - click the Ent icon in the Dock and the window
comes back.
