I wasn't expecting any updates to Outlook Express or Entourage 2001. I think people have been confused about my original message. I wasn't asking for a solution for my actual problem, which is what normally happens in this mailing list. I was wondering what people thought about my suggested enhancement to Entourage v.X. I like Entourage's use of a database, but it does have some problems. One is that everything must be stored one place. > Nevertheless, it's quite easy to do exactly what you want in both Entourage > 2001 and X - it's a bit fussier in OE. > > Simply copy, or move, groups of messages relevant to some project group into > a new Entourage mail folder - takes a few seconds. All they have to do is drag it into their copy of Entourage. Voil. It's actually a lot easier than doing that. Copy the identity folder and remove the account details (so it won't send and receive) and any email you don't want. Depending on how much is removed a rebuild of the database might be useful. Users can then drag this folder into their identities folder. All they need to do is switch identities to read the mail. This works on OE or any version of Entourage. What's wrong with this? It's what I do now. It's not something anyone else in the office would do. They are not interested in knowing how Entourage actually works. They much prefer to ask me to search for things, since my background is IT. It's very interesting and frustrating moving from an IT environment to working in an environment where people's computer skills are limited. Now try that with a software budget of AU$500 (US$300) and 5 computers. I would ask for more but there are no funds. -- Matthew -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
