You're going to need to do an Advanced Rebuild, not a Typical. You do that by holding down the Option key as you launch Entourage and choose Advanced in the window that comes up.
But with 25000+ messages just in one folder, let alone the others, you'll need to be sure that you have the most up-to-date version of Entourage. Since you sent your message from Apple's Mail, for some reason, rather than Entourage, I can't see which version you have. If you never upgraded from the original v10.0.0, you are limited to a 2GB database size, and the rebuilder is less robust than in later versions. Even with SR-1 (v10.1.0) you should upgrade. Go to the MacTopia website and download and apply the Office 10.1.2 updater. Even if you don't need Exchange, you should probably then update with the Office 10.1.4 updater since the rebuild engine was tweaked again in 10.1.4. (Entourage 10.1.1 through 10.1.4 also allow you a 4-GB database, and alert you if you begin to approach that limit.) After you've updated, if you aren't already in 10.1.1 or 10.1.4, then do the Advanced Rebuild. You could have learned about Typical or Advanced Rebuild by simply going to the Help menu, choosing Entourage Help and entering "rebuild" in the search box - or do the same thing in the Office Assistant. The link there is - of all things - "I'm having trouble viewing and opening items" and from there are further links to "About rebuilding the database". It has useful advice on backing up before rebuilding.
