On the same machine, E'rage vX will download messages in 35 seconds that take 92 seconds in 2001. Running schedules (ie, deleting trash) is faster, and I don't see the spinning beachball (I've only got about 3,000 messages in my database and 1500 names, so it's not huge.) Except for some Finder stuff, OS X seems so much faster on this poke iMac 350 MHZ. Downloads are 150 KB/sec, compared to 60 KB per second in OS 9. There are so many examples. When you have a slow machine, the inherent advantages of Jaguar over 9.1 reduce the bottleneck that was in the machine. X is not slower. -- Bruce ____________________________________________________ B R U C E K. -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
