Sometimes it's just a corrupt message and it's usually spam. You seem to indicate that it's for all html messages though. Create a new User in System Preferences. Now launch Entourage and set up one account for testing. Email an html message and download into this test account. Does it work there? This will identify if the problem is in your User's folder. Having this test setup on a clean user is a good way to test for problems.
