Unfortunately, IMAP is a separate protocol for message retrieval. It has nothing to do with the issue of sending mail. The only way to have it "simple" is to have access to an SMTP server on a network that doesn't do port 25 blocking, that supports SMTP AUTH *and* has an SMTP listener on an additional alternate port. With all of those requirements met, you can set the SMTP server once and have it work everywhere. Or rather, the only place it won't work is on a network where the firewall prevents all traffic other than on certain specified ports. Julian's suggestion is a good one (use Earthlink's SMTP AUTH server), but isn't universal. If you find yourself on a network that blocks port 25, you're still out of luck. In my case, I have just such a server as I describe above at work. Perhaps your company's IT department would be accommodating in this area as well. Or perhaps you have a really flexible ISP. Otherwise, you're just going to be stuck switching servers to workaround security issues. -Remo Del Bello -- "The most rewarding part was when he gave me my money." - Dr. Nick Riviera on The Simpsons -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
