Here's the latest thing causing the problem.

A malformed spam message was sent to many people causing the Junk Mail
Filter to fail. The cause of this is a missing bracket within the header
information. The JMF cannot parse the information and fails.

Turning off the JMF after you have a crash situation, Re-downloading the
mail, deleting the bad message, and then re-enabling the filter is the
easiest workaround.

Other strategies:
1) Check for duplicate Microsoft Database daemons in System Preferences
Startup items. If you have more than one, delete all and let Office recreate
a new one.
2) Test for a corrupt font:

3)
Try to find where problem is located.

First, create a new identity to
eliminate corruption in current identity:

Entourage X: Entourage menu>Switch Identity>Select New

If the problems go away, then your old identity is corrupt. You can try a
rebuild on your old identity.

If the problem existed in a new identity then
create a new User. This will eliminate corruption or conflicts in your User
Folder:

In System Preferences: Users: Create a new user. Log Out/In to new user.
Open Entourage and see if the problems go away. (You might need to recreate
your account info.) If problems disappear then you know it's a conflict or
corruption in your user folder.

Other suggestions:

Run Repair Permissions:

Run Repair Permissions after any software update
from Apple and for other software updates. To use. open Disk Utility in your
~/Applications/Utility folder. Click on the First Aid tab and select Repair
Permissions. Don't run from CD as updates have a newer version of Repair
Permissions.

If you shut down your computer overnight, you need to run the cron jobs that
Apple has set to run at 3AM. Download MacJanitor
here:
