Word uses the Entourage database - contacts - for several features: Contacts tooltips, Contacts toolbar, AutoText and the Office Address Book and Data Merge Manager. Even without the toolbar, with tooltips turned off in View prefs, Exclude contacts option taken in AutoCorrect, the Office Address Book is still always available in Tools menu and via Data Merge Manager.
