No, it won't. But if repairing the database doesn't make for a permanent fix
it is possible that there is an underlying problem in one of the support
files or preference files. If that is the case, a reinstall may well solve
the problem. Re-installing over the existing version wouldn't do it - many
files would be skipped if they already exist. To reinstall you need to run
the removal tool first.
