This aspect of your problems is indeed mysterious. Since the problem is affecting both Erage and Word I'm going to guess that is has something to do with the contact part of the database, which both apps access. Do you have Word set to add the Address Book to the autocomplete list? If so, in Word, try going to "Tools/Autocorrect/Autotext" and checking "Exclude contacts".
