As far as I know .rge mail archives actually are an aggregate of mbox files. The plus would be all the extra Entourage-only metadata, such as you want, attached to the messages. The minus would be that only Entourage can open .rge files as such. So if you're planning to export the mail in a form that can be used in some other program, or easily opened in a text editor, make a simple .mbox. If you're planning to use it back in Entourage and want all that extra information - i.e. - to recreate the folder exactly as it was before, with links, correct accounts, categories, etc. - use the .rge archiving. (In an emergency, I'm guessing that opening a .rge mail file in a text editor would still be able to access the text of messages, but I haven't tried it yet. Just guessing.)
