This was posted about a week ago, with no response as yet. I believe it's
serious enough that project archiving should be done with great caution.

The abbreviated sequence of events that led me to this conclusion are:

  * Attempted to archive a project with 2 emails and 4 files
  * Archive began looping and Entourage had to be 'force quit'
  * Associated files could not be moved or deleted by the Finder
    (In fact, the Finder had to be restarted when it was attempted)
  
  * DiskWarrior could not repair the directory
  * Disk Utility reported the limit of 100 nested folders was exceeded
  * TechTool Pro identified the nested files as multiple copies of
    the project files from Entourage
  
  * Disk format, and system rebuild resulted.
