I don't think I made any claims for the information being independently verified. However, I don't see why this guy would misrepresent a conversation just so he could admit to his staff how frustrated and dumb he felt.

MS never promised "full Exchange support"

Not in public, no.

I haven't heard of anyone complaining to the Outlook team for giving
up Mac support, only bleating about MacBU for agreeing to take on Exchange.

Frankly, outside of this list I doubt many people know or indeed care which team at MS writes the code. FWIW, I've gotten a lot of interesting info from MS contributors here (and through their blogs) and trust that their relative quiet means they're hard at work on SP1 for Office 2004.

Classic still works, actually better than ever in Panther. Until Entourage functions at the level you want for Exchange, nothing's stopping you from going on using Outlook 2001, is there?

No, but it can certainly be a hassle to support. As it happens, we're more or less done with our migration - as mentioned in a previous thread we've encountered issues between E'rage 2004 and the Adobe CS suite so we've had to roll a couple of users back to v. X.

Cheers,
Lars
