So what? It still makes a huge difference. I have no idea (but I can guess)
whether it would have been easier for the Outlook team to carbonize their
code for OS X, or for the Entourage team to start an Exchange implementation
from the ground up, grafting it onto an utterly different application. The
point is that doing the latter is not child's play. It's hard, and it takes
time given the limited resources to do that plus everything else. MS did a
"survey", you may recall, where the overwhelming majority of users said
they'd prefer Entourage, rather than Outlook, to do Exchange in OS X. Well,
that may have been convincing to Marketing to go that direction, with the
public declaration of faith in Entourage giving the promise of more sales.
But there's no way any regular customer could have the faintest idea that MS
couldn't just "move it over" to Entourage. It's totally unreasonable to
expect MS to wait around who knows how much longer before releasing Office
11 (2004, or whatever year it would have come out), waiting for Entourage to
turn out a "complete" (i.e. Outlook 2003) Exchange client. The world just
doesn't work that way. Give them time and they'll get there eventually. In
the meantime, they are in the business of releasing regular upgrades of
Office.

A far cry from what you actually said in your last message:

PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using -
**2004**, X or 2001. It's often impossible to answer your questions
otherwise.
