Now if I could just figure a work around for automatically inserting a random signature into my messages without having to go to signatures/random. Oh well ... <G>
BTW ... I think it is my signature file that is corrupt. I replaced it with an earlier version and it seems to work without crashing Entourage.

No, you don't lose anything except links. In the case of IMAP (and news) messages, you get the headers again and can re-download any messages you need to read from the server.
