For what its worth, I get the loss of keyboard control in the following
scenario:

1. Leave Entourage as the frontmost app
2. Sleep the computer
3. Wake the computer after an Office notification is scheduled to appear
4. Dismiss/Snooze notification

After this point, I lose keyboard control of Entourage. Clicking on the
Entourage window to activate it, whether directly or after switching to
another app first, doesn't bring the keyboard control back. To fix it I have
to either, quit and re-launch Entourage or switch to another app and switch
back to Entourage by clicking on the Entourage icon in the Dock. This second
workaround doesn't always fix it, but it does in the vast majority of cases.

I haven't really paid attention to whether this is any better in SP2, but
I'll report back if it is fixed.
