Title: Continued problems with timed out email
I posted about this before, but have another question. I have Entourage from Office 2001 and a Mac G4. Until a couple of weeks ago I was running OS 9 but now have OS 10.4.6 Tiger.

My email just won’t send or receive for periods of time, yet during that time I can access websites. After going round and round with Earthlink, they simply absolved themselves of any connection to the problem. They said it’s a problem somehow between my computer and them and suggested that when I got OS X things should clear up.

Someone on this list sent me info about how Entourage has been found to have these misconnects sometimes just with Earthlink. Earthlink told me no one else has complained of this problem and if it were them, others would have contacted them.

So now that I have OS X, I thought if I tried the built-in Mail program that comes with the system, with its not being Entourage, all my problems would be solved. But alas, that’s not so. It still times out.

Even with trying to use this other Mail program, which I don’t care for, BTW, the same problem is occurring. This drives me mad and not a soul seems able to tell me how to solve it. I pay Earthlink a whopping $52+ each month yet have to contend with having large periods of time with no email service.

Any ideas how to pursue a solution?
